The Crucible
Vision content stills

Vision is used within this production of the crucible to offer an insight into the emotional turmoil that the hysteria has caused in Salem the community. The vision design for The Crucible acts as a lens into human nature, our desire for self-preservation and how this desire directly impacts the town’s hysteria. This is done through an ink metaphor, which relates to the themes of legacy, reputation, and the importance of one’s name. The visuals used are clouds of ink, shadowy figures, and ink stains. This carries the idea that our wrong doings, short comings, and sins can act as stains upon the soul.
